FW 418 is available

Postby Velocomp on Tue Feb 16, 2010 9:41 am

FW 418 is now available through iBike 4.0.2 software.

FW 418, for Gen III iBikes only, includes the following features:

1) New, "Dynamic Auto Pairing". After your sensors have been found with the Setup/Scan step, your iBike connects automatically to all your available wireless sensors, throughout your ride, whenever possible. Dynamic Auto-Pairing happens whenever wheel speed is zero or whenever the bike is accelerated from zero speed. With Dynamic Auto Pairing you should find that your wireless iBike "just works".

You do not need to do a new Scan after installing 418; however, IF YOU REMOVE A BATTERY FROM ANY IBIKE WIRELESS SENSOR, YOU MUST THEN PERFORM A NEW "SCAN".

2) A bug in the Fit Train interval function, causing some target intervals wattages to be displayed as negative numbers, has been corrected.

Did anything change with the DFPM Calibration? I did a calibration before my ride last night, then mid-ride wanted to recalibrate. I couldn't find the calibration screen again during a cursory look through the menus on the iAero.

Sorry- I was being a bit brief.

Before my ride, I set the calibration for my SRM via the "PCAL" screen on the iAero. Later in the ride I wanted to check the calibration again. I could not find the PCAL screen. I scrolled via the left arrow screen to screen-- it's possible I missed it but I went through the options a couple times.

I borrowed a PM and noticed the same thing, sometimes PCAL is there, but most of the time it wasn't in the list. I ended up turning the iBike on and off a few times until it gave the PCAL option again.

The PCAL (and FILT screens for that matter) should be located in the “rotation” between “SET PROF” and “SCAN” screens in the setup. The only thing that should prevent them from appearing is if the DFPM is not found during a SCAN.

Make sure you are finding your DFPM during the Scan (PIN FOUND). Also, it is important to note that the sensor complement is stored with the profile information, so if your change profiles the complement of scanned sensors changes; you need to be sure your DFPM is in each profile.

Is it recommended that owners of the wired ipro download FW 418 or is the upgrade just for wireless units?

In general it's a good idea for all iBike owners to have the latest FW installed.

From the iSport Manual:

For information about the optional upgrade of your iSport to a fully-featured iBike Pro (capable of downloadable rides, use of iBike 4 software, firmware updates, and more), or for more information about optional iSport mounts (wired cadence mount or wireless speed/cadence/HR mount) visit:
https://www.ibikesports.com/ibikestore.html

NOTE: this includes firmware.

I believe that you can send the unit back to Velocomp for FW upgrades.

I am running FW version 4.02 and the latest iBike software for both Mac and PC. Every time I try to download the latest firmware I get a message "Your are running the latest FW 4.02". This has been going on for some time so I never bothered to figure out the issue. The happens both on my MAC and my PC. Any idea why I can't load the latest FW?

FW 418 is very old.

As of today we have not added the % max HR to any firmware update.
